"What are you reading?"

"Do you know of any good books for my daughter?  She is going into third grade but has a really high reading level, and I don't want her reading some of the young adult novels that are out there!"

"How can I get my kids more interested in reading?"

This blog is intended to combine my love of reading, my background as an educator, my interest in literacy, and my passion for writing for children and young adults.  More and more, my friends -- as well as parents of former students -- are asking me for good, quality reading material for their kids.  While each child is interested in something different and reads at a different level, there are so many wonderful books available that I want to share them with everyone who will listen!

The plan is to organize the blog by categories of picture book, middle grade novel, young adult novel, books for grown-ups (because "adult novel" just sounds too much like porn!), and miscellaneous.  I'm sure readers will find me up on a soap box every now and then -- perhaps I should include that as a category.
