Unplugging
We got back from a 9-day trip to Washington D.C. on Saturday to find our phones and internet out. This, after only one successful attempt at connecting at our hotel in Georgetown, and the knowledge that our Inboxes were FULL of emails. Not to mention my failure to blog!
My initial frustration quickly disappeared as I puttered happily about, unpacking without distraction. On Sunday afternoon we napped instead of reading forwards and deleting junk. Sunday night found me reading a book I'd hauled to DC but never opened.
The truth is, being unplugged was delicious. A friend of mine unplugs every Sunday. No cell phone, no computer, TV, the works. I'm thinking of following her lead. Anyone have unplugging habits or a-ha moments like mine?

Does it count if there's just limited access to technology? I live in the sticks. No internet and little phone service at home. It is usually a very good thing!
