Days 21, 22, 23, & 24

I've been away from home, office, and computer, so I have some catching up to do.  In a way, I guess you could say I gave myself a break!  It's hard to believe the 29-Day Giving Challenge is almost over.  I'll have to come up with something special to finish with a bang!

Day 21: Books! I mailed out all of the books I'd "given" earlier, plus some extras to my nephews, so I'm counting those for the 21st.

Day 22: Food! I bought cheese sticks to share with my colleagues at lunch.  They were "Nacho Cheese Sticks" rolled in crushed tortilla chips -- tasty!

Day 23: Words.  A friend came to me needing help with a dilemma.  I found it's much easier to put words to other people's "no" responses than my own.

Day 24: A bulldog toy.  I had to be at work this morning at 6 a.m. to "man" a booth for my organization.  The event was a Talk Radio Road Show in support of Autism Awareness.  I met many nice people, and as the event was at the Vet School, I picked up a squeeze toy in the shape of a bulldog.  I gave it to Sarah when I got home.  I think the true gift was refraining from telling her, "I feel so sorry for you since you dislocated your shoulder that I got you a dog."  That would have been mean (yet very funny).

So, yeah.  Sarah dislocated her shoulder sliding into 3rd base Tuesday night while I was in Biloxi.  She slept til noon today, and her injury hasn't interfered with her XBox playing, so I think she'll be fine.  She's in an immobilizer for 4-6 weeks . . .

The Billy Collins volume arrived last week! It looks fabulous. I've lapsed in my practice of reading a poem each night at bedtime, but your gift has inspired me to start again. Thank you!
