All the Water in the World by George Ella Lyon, copyright 2011

Teaching the water cycle does not have to be boring.

Thanks to the development of what is termed "narrative nonfiction," many educational topics are now featured in engaging, vibrant, and beautifully illustrated picture books -- perfect for sharing in classrooms, at story time, or in homeschool settings.

George Ella Lyon's All the Water in the World is innovative in its approach to the topic and its design. The text is lyrical. The type sizes vary, the orientation of the book changes from horizontal to vertical, and Katherine Tillotson's illustrations are filled with movement, urging the reader to turn the page.

Plus, it's FUN.  I recommend it!
