NPR’s Book Concierge

This morning as I drove to work, I listened to an NPR segment about a web feature they’ve created called The Book Concierge.

NPR staff and critics determined the 250 books included in the “Best Books of 2014” list. Those books were then tagged by popular categories, such as “Book Club Ideas” and “Love Stories,” along with more creative groupings, such as “Eye-Opening Reads” and “It’s All Geek to Me.” Clicking on multiple tags will narrow down the search, so you can end up with a poetry book ideal for a book club interested in family matters and eye-opening reads — Marilyn Nelson’s How I Discovered Poetry.

When you roll your mouse over a book cover, the beginning of a review appears, with a link to click to read more of the review.

With links to Amazon, iFirst, and Independent Booksellers, as well as links to related NPR content,  The Book Concierge is a fun and visual way to shop for gifts or gifts-for-yourself.
