Finishing: A 20-year quilt project

Back in the 1990s, my mom subscribed to a fabric-of-the-month club. She collected small squares, and when I was home visiting I’d play with them. Over the course of time I created 9-patch blocks & until recently had no idea what to do with them.

With input from a helpful quilter, I bought navy blue fabric & sashed the blocks together. It’s not a large quilt, so I added a gray border.

It feels really good to finally finish it. Liberating, in a way. I’m slowly chipping away at projects that are partially done. I’ve discovered that, while it’s nice to have a few things going at different stages, too many starts to get overwhelming.
