Poetry Friday & a quote about writing

Tricia is hosting at The Miss Rumphius Effect.

“You must find your own quiet center of life, and write from that.” — Sarah Orne Jewett (via The Writer’s Almanac, Sept. 3, 2015)

I’m still looking for the quiet center. When I find it, I hope it has chocolate!

This week I’m linking back to my poem posted by Michelle for the DMC challenge. Thanks for the kind comments there & thanks to Michelle & Kenn for the challenge.

My new grandson is due any day, so I will wrap up this post with a picture of the quilt I made for him.

  1. Haha! I LOL’d when I read this: “Iā€™m still looking for the quiet center. When I find it, I hope it has chocolate!” My goodness, you have that right! Gorgeous quilt, Keri, and thanks so much for contributing to this month’s DMC challenge.

  2. Keri, your mother poem shows us a wise woman. Beautifully crafted.

And I love the quilt you made. That is gorgeous. Enjoy the little man when he arrives!

  3. Keri, I hope you find that quiet corner with many pieces of delicious chocolate. Life is full when we can write from the heart. I see that you create quilts from the heart and I am sure it will be accompanied by words to cherish.
Do you have a favorite autumn photo/digital inspiration of your homestead complete with bees and honey for my autumn gallery? I hope so.

  4. Beautiful quilt, wow!! How could it be the center without chocolate? LOL Love the poem about your mom. Left a message for you there.

  5. I hope I find the quiet centre before all of you… and score the chocolate! šŸ˜€ I too admired your mother and poem. Congratulations on the anticipated grand new bubba boy – and warmly welcoming quilt.
