Affection for my dog-niece Rose notwithstanding, I am committed to animals from shelters and rescues. My experience at the Oktibbeha County Humane Society only reinforced my belief that committed people work hard to provide animals with good homes. They answered my questions, offered personal cell phone numbers if we had trouble, and did everything possible to make Duke’s transition to our family as easy it could be, including the provision of his antibiotics in dosed syringes so Sarah could easily administer his meds.
