If you like eccentric Southern characters, none compare to those living in the pages of Fannie Flagg’s books. Best known for Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle-Stop Cafe (“The secret’s in the sauce!”), she’s written other books but none I loved so immediately as I Still Dream About You.
