It’s Poetry Friday and Catherine is hosting at Reading to the Core.
Michelle is wrapping up the monthly poetry challenge over at Today’s Little Ditty. Douglas Florian challenged us to write a poem about nothing. Here is my contribution.
So go wash your hands and enjoy some poetry. 🙂
I love this, Keri. Thanks so much for sending in this awesome illustrated poem! I especially love the lines, “neither sin nor demon/nor god demanding gifts./I thrive in your filth….” Powerful stuff. And never before have germs looked so appealing to me either. I’d like to pop them in my mouth like grapes. (Probably not a good idea, huh.)
BTW, your PF linky link seems to be going to Catherine’s post, so you may want to have another go at it.
In the immortal words of Charlie Brown: “Oh Good Grief.” I’ve added a fixed link. Thank you, Michelle!
Eww bewtiful! “when you see me for what I am.”
So pretty, but so deadly! I like the “noTHING.” Well done!
Thanks! Praise from you is always extra special. 🙂
**Snort!!**
I’m ABSOLUTELY washing my hands after this one!
Creative idea, Keri-germaphobics watch out!
Ha, I’m married to one!
“thrive in your filth” sends me straight to the sink. A clever nothing poem.
Thank you! I am fascinated by the development of germ theory, for some weird reason, so it was the first thing that popped into my mind when we got the challenge!
This is so clever, Keri! Unfortunately, it reminds me of my students, who all seem to have colds this week, sitting about six inches away from me and coughing in my face!
ACK! I hope you stay well!
